Your Belly Is
Trying to Tell You
Something
Upper and lower belly. Two different reflections. Two different roots. One complete guide to decode and shift both.
If this found you, there is a reason. Your Higher Self does not bring information to your attention by accident. Stay with me.
"This guide arrived in your feed for a reason. There is a layer of truth in what you are about to read and your Higher Self knew you were ready to see it."
Upper Belly Your Past
The weight you carry above your navel is connected to the weight of your past. The decisions. The versions of yourself you have not yet forgiven.
What your upper belly is actually reflecting
Extra weight or bloating in the upper belly is almost always connected to beating yourself up about your past.
This is not about what you ate. This is your body holding the energetic weight of everything you keep looking back at and wishing you had done differently. The decisions you replay. The choices you cringe at. The version of you from five or ten years ago that you have not fully forgiven.
Beating yourself up about your past — decisions, choices, and versions of yourself you have not forgiven
Somewhere underneath the frustration with your upper belly, there is a belief running that your past defines you. That what you did then is evidence of who you are now. That you should have known better even when you were doing the absolute best you could with what you had at the time.
This shows up differently for everyone. For some women it is the credit card debt they got themselves into. The relationship they kept going back to even when they knew better. The career choices that felt wrong but they made anyway. The way they spoke to someone they love. The opportunities they let slip by out of fear.
"I know better now. But I did not know better then. And I cannot seem to stop punishing myself for that."
That loop of knowing better now and punishing yourself for not knowing it then is exactly what the upper belly is reflecting. And it will keep reflecting it until the belief underneath it shifts.
Five steps to decode and shift it
Walk through this with honesty and without judgment. The reflection is not a punishment. It is a message.
Identify the emotional root
For the upper belly the root is your past. You are beating yourself up about something that already happened. Start by simply naming that without the shame spiral attached to it.
I got myself into significant credit card debt and I am still not over it.
I kept going back to a relationship I knew was not right for me.
I took a career path that was about approval and not purpose and I feel like I wasted years on it.
I said things to people I love that I cannot take back.
I had opportunities I was too scared to take and I am still angry at myself for it.
Name how you feel like it is being toward you
Not how you feel emotionally but how does the past feel like it is being toward you? Give it a personality. This is the question that unlocks the data underneath the emotion.
It feels like it is following me everywhere I go.
It feels like it is holding something over me like evidence against me.
It feels like it is refusing to let me move forward no matter what I do.
It feels like it is reminding me constantly that I am not as far along as I should be.
Nail down the area of life it is showing up in
Where specifically is the past beating you up the hardest? Be honest about which area of life this is actually living in for you right now.
Where is your past showing up loudest?
The reflection always lives in one of these eight areas. The highlighted ones are where the past most commonly shows up for upper belly. Trust your gut though because yours might be different.
Is it financial — the debt, the money decisions, how you have managed or mismanaged money in the past?
Is it vocation — career choices you made for the wrong reasons, staying too long somewhere, not going after what you really wanted?
Is it family — things you said or did not say, the parent or partner or child you were not yet equipped to be?
Is it social — relationships you stayed in, ones you walked away from, how you showed up for people you care about?
Find the root belief running underneath
Once you know the area, you can find the actual belief. Here is what it commonly sounds like and what the truth actually is.
My past decisions are proof that I am not capable of getting it right. I should have known better. I cannot be trusted to make good choices.
Every single thing I have done has brought me here. I could not have learned what I know now without living what I lived then. My past is not evidence against me. It is the reason I am who I am today.
Write your specific belief down. Get as precise as you can. The more specific the belief the more specific the shift.
Your new beliefs
These are real, specific, and already true. Your job is to start collecting sixty moments of evidence that prove them.
Everything I have ever done in my life, every mistake, every bad decision, every chapter I am not proud of, has brought me to this exact moment. Not in spite of those things. Because of them. Every single one was perfectly designed to get me here.
Even if I never accomplish another single thing or hit another single goal, I am still completely worthy of absolute love. Most importantly from myself. My worth has never been attached to my performance. It never was. It never will be.
These are your starting points. Adjust the language so they feel true in your own voice. The specificity is what makes them land.
Proving the new belief one moment at a time
You do not need big wins. You need small ones repeated, felt, and owned. Here is what that actually looks like for the upper belly reflection.
You look at something in your life that is good right now and you can trace it directly back to a decision you used to beat yourself up about. That is proof that the path was right even when it looked wrong.
You catch yourself giving someone else grace for a mistake they made — the same kind of mistake you punish yourself for. That is proof that compassion is available to you. You just have not turned it inward yet.
You make a better decision today in your financial area, your vocation, or a relationship because of what you learned the hard way. That is proof that your past made you more capable, not less.
Someone comes to you specifically because of an experience you went through because they are going through the same thing. That is proof that your story is someone else's survival guide.
You wake up and you are still here, still building, still growing, still showing up. That is proof. You did not give up. That is not nothing. That is everything.

Lower Belly What You Are Creating
The weight below your navel is connected to what you are currently building and the belief that you are not doing it right, fast enough, or with the right tools.
What your lower belly is actually reflecting
Extra weight in the lower belly is almost always connected to beating yourself up about what you are currently creating in your life.
This is the belly that holds the frustration of wanting to build something meaningful and feeling like you are stuck, behind, or not doing it right. The woman who built a successful corporate career and knows in her soul it is not her purpose. The woman who has been trying to step into her vocation and keeps hitting walls between where she is and where she knows she is meant to be.
Beating yourself up about what you are currently creating and the gap between what you are building and what you believe it should already be
Somewhere underneath there is a belief that you do not have enough, know enough, or are enough to create the impact you feel called to create. That the tools you have are not the right tools. That everyone else has figured it out and you are still catching up.
This is the woman who is really good at what she does right now, maybe exceptionally good, but knows it is not her soul's calling. She is sitting in a career that looks successful from the outside and feels hollow on the inside. She wants to create something that transforms lives. And some part of her keeps whispering that she is not ready yet.
I know what I want to build. I just do not believe I have what it takes to actually build it yet.
Five steps to decode and shift it
Identify the emotional root
For the lower belly the root is what you are currently creating. You are beating yourself up about the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Name that gap as specifically as you can without making yourself wrong for it.
I have been trying to build my business for two years and it is still not where I want it to be.
I am stuck in my 9 to 5 and I cannot seem to break away and go all in on what I actually want.
I know I am meant for more than this but I cannot figure out how to get there.
I keep starting things and not finishing them and I am so hard on myself for it.
I see other people creating what I want to create and I wonder why I cannot do the same.
Name how you feel like it is being toward you
How does your current creative situation feel like it is being toward you? Not what you feel emotionally but how does it feel like it is treating you?
It feels like it is blocking me no matter what I try.
It feels like it is moving for everyone else but not for me.
It feels like it is asking me to prove myself before it opens up.
It feels like it is telling me I am not ready yet.
Nail down the area of life it is showing up in
For the lower belly this almost always lives in vocation but it can bleed into the financial and mental areas too. Be honest about where the I am not moving fast enough energy is loudest.
Where is your creative frustration actually living?
The lower belly reflection most commonly shows up in these areas. Notice which one hits hardest for you right now.
Is it vocation — you are in the wrong career, or trying to build the right one and it is not moving fast enough?
Is it financial — you want to create income doing what you love but the money is not matching the effort yet?
Is it mental — you are stuck in comparison, self-doubt, or the loop of I am not ready yet?
Is it passion and hobby — something creative you want to bring into the world that you keep putting off?
Find the root belief running underneath
I do not have what it takes yet. I am not ready. Other people have figured this out and I am still stuck. What I am creating is not good enough or moving fast enough.
I already have every tool and every piece of knowledge I need to create exactly the impact I am here to create. My current situation is not blocking me. It is preparing me. And what I do changes lives.
Your new beliefs
These are already true. You just have not been collecting evidence for them yet. That starts now.
I already have all of the tools, the knowledge, and the lived experience I need to create any amount of income and any amount of impact that I choose. I do not need to be further along. I need to trust and use what I already have.
What I do completely and totally transforms the trajectory of the people I work with. My knowledge, my perspective, and my way of seeing the world helps people reach their fullest potential. What I do makes a real and lasting difference.
My current situation is not keeping me from my purpose. It is preparing me for it. Everything happening right now is building the foundation of what I am stepping into. I am not behind. I am exactly on time.
These are your starting points. Adjust the language so they feel true in your own voice. The specificity is what makes them land.
Proving the new belief one moment at a time
You do not need to have built the whole thing yet. You just need daily proof that you are already the person who can.
Someone asks for your advice or your perspective on something in your area of expertise and you give them something genuinely useful. That is proof that you already have what it takes. You did not need to be further along to help that person today.
You create something, a post, a conversation, a piece of content, a session, and someone tells you it resonated or helped them. That is proof that what you are putting out is landing. The impact is already happening.
You solve a problem at your current vocation with skills that are completely transferable to the thing you are building. That is proof that nothing is wasted. You are building the person who will build the thing.
You show up and do the work even when it is hard, even when it is slow, even when it does not look the way you thought it would. That is proof that you have what it takes. Consistency in the hard season is the highest form of authority.
You think of someone whose life or perspective shifted because of something you said, shared, or created, even casually. That is proof. You are already doing what you are afraid you cannot do. You just have not been counting it.
